Gift Cards

Gift Cards lets you sell digital gift cards directly through your Sunshine Photo Cart store. Customers can purchase gift cards in preset or custom amounts, personalize them with a recipient name and message, and choose to have them delivered instantly or on a scheduled date. Recipients redeem their gift card by entering the code at checkout, and the balance is automatically tracked across orders.

Flexible Purchasing Options

Configure preset amounts like $25, $50, $100, and $200, or let customers enter a custom amount up to a maximum you define. Gift cards appear as a product type in your store and work seamlessly with the Sell Anything addon. A dedicated gift card purchase page is automatically created when you activate the addon, and a link is added to your Sunshine navigation menu.

Send as a Gift

Customers can enter a recipient name, email address, and personal message when purchasing a gift card. If no recipient email is provided, the gift card is sent to the purchaser. Choose between immediate delivery after purchase or schedule it for a future date — perfect for birthdays, holidays, or any special occasion.

Automatic Email Delivery

Gift card emails are sent automatically with a customizable email template. Use template variables to include the gift card code, amount, recipient name, and personal message. Scheduled gift cards are delivered at 8am on the chosen date via an hourly background check.

Checkout Redemption

Customers enter their gift card code at checkout using the same discount code field. The gift card balance is applied as a credit toward the order total after discounts and tax. Multiple gift cards can be applied to a single order, and only the amount needed is deducted — any remaining balance stays on the card for future use.

Balance Tracking

Every gift card maintains a complete usage history showing which orders used it, when, and how much was deducted. Customers can check their remaining balance anytime using the balance lookup shortcode. If an order is refunded, the gift card balance is automatically restored.

Admin Management

View and manage all gift cards from a dedicated admin screen. Each gift card displays its code, current balance, original amount, and linked purchase order. Create gift cards manually for promotions or customer service — codes are generated automatically. Edit balances, recipient details, and view the full usage history from the gift card edit screen.
