It's been a little while since I last sent an update but we are now up to Sunshine Photo Cart 2.9.8! In this last release, a new tool for clearing up orphaned gallery images has been added.
In case you didn't know, Sunshine already has an option in Sunshine > Settings > Sunshine > Delete Media Library Images which will delete all images associated with a gallery when a gallery is permanently deleted. In some instances, if you did not have this option enabled at the time of deleting a gallery or for galleries with a lot of images and the images failed to be fully deleted during the process you may have some orphaned images (meaning an image is still present but their gallery is not). This tool allows you to quickly and easily clean up those orphaned gallery images you don't want taking up space in your WordPress site and server.
To find this new tool, go to Sunshine > Tools > Orphaned Images. It is recommended you make a backup just in case before doing a mass deletion of content from your site.
Sunshine Photo Cart 3.0 is making great progress!
Sunshine 3 is coming! It is a complete rewrite (almost) from scratch and every single aspect is being rethought and reconsidered after 9 years of existence (Sunshine 1.0 was released in April 2013) and using the feedback and lessons learned during all that time. So far there is a new checkout experience, improved gallery layouts, a new Sunshine theme, improved admin UI, and so many more features. I do not have any timeline for when all will be ready but I'm very excited to get it in your hands as soon as possible. Let's just say it would be an awesome 10-year anniversary celebration.
