In the very first iteration of Sunshine, we built it so it was completely self contained. It had it’s own entire set of template files and a default theme. After beta testers got a hold of it, one of the most requested features was to have Sunshine integrate directly into their WordPress theme. This made sense to us so we reconfigured everything to work solely inside an existing WordPress theme – any theme. With more testing and time it became apparent that we needed to have the option for both setups and this latest release addresses it. Now, you can choose if you want to have Sunshine integrate into your existing WordPress theme or choose a Sunshine theme. We have brought back our original theme, with even more customization options, and will plan on building even more themes over time for you to choose from.

Along with this version is a change to the lightbox system. We are now using Colorbox instead of prettyPhoto. Colorbox has enormous usage numbers and now we know why: It is highly customizable design wise and packs the same great features that prettyPhoto had. This initial release of Colorbox uses a default theme of theirs, but we want to tweak it to look even better as we continue to improve Sunshine.
