Today many things officially changed with Sunshine, including:

Sunshine 2.9 is released and is a required update

The 2.8 branch of Sunshine was released over 3 years ago, so moving to 2.9 is a big deal! This release is a required update because of the completely rebuilt from scratch add-on manager which will ensure you can easily manage your Sunshine add-ons with even more ease. In your WordPress admin, go to Sunshine > Add-ons to access it.

But that's not all, folks! A new often requested feature for those who build galleries from FTP: automatic images updates. If you add new images to an FTP folder, Sunshine will check once a day and automatically detect the new images and add them to the gallery.

Last, in preparation for an even bigger 3.0 update in the future, the underlying code is starting to be replaced with more modern coding standards and speed. Instead of rewriting the entire plugin at once, I have chosen to do it incrementally over time. Once it is all in place 3.0 will be released to signify the code overhaul.

Pricing Structure Changes

As announced 2 weeks ago, Sunshine is now offered in multiple plans - Basic, Plus, and Pro - each with preset add-ons included. Customers can start off with a Basic plan and upgrade as they need with the upgrade fee being prorated. Prices have increased for a Pro plan from $99/year to $159/year but now include a 10% renewal discount each year. Basic is $99/year and Plus is $129/year. Individual add-ons are still available, however, pricing has also increased for them well.

All previous Pro customers will continue having access to all add-ons like they always have and at the price they originally purchased. There is also no price increase if you are already an existing customer - Pro or individual add-ons - as long as you maintain an active license.

New Exports add-on!

A new Exports add-on has been released as well! This highly requested new add-on allows you to export your Orders into a CSV file for use in any 3rd party financial apps or to help you fulfill your orders easier. You can filter the exports based on Order Status, Order Date range, or specific galleries (and their child galleries). If you have other data from Sunshine you want to see exported let me know.

Go to the new Sunshine > Add-ons section in your WordPress admin and install the Exports add-on if you are already a Pro customer - no upgrades are needed as it is included at no additional cost!

Thank you!

I want to thank you. It is because of your continued support that I have had the privilege of working on it for 8+ years! I look forward to more years of growth and success for Sunshine and all its customers.
