Customer Account Settings
The Accounts section in your general settings controls how customer registration and sign-up works across your Sunshine Photo Cart site. You can disable sign-up entirely, make certain fields optional, or require accounts before customers can see products.
Where to Find These Settings
- Go to Sunshine > Settings > General
- Scroll down to the Accounts section
Settings
Disable Signup
When checked, removes the ability for new customers to register for an account anywhere on your site. Existing accounts still work — customers who already have accounts can still log in. Only new registrations are blocked.
Use this if you manage customer accounts yourself and don't want visitors creating their own.
Password Optional for Signup
When checked, the password field is not required during registration. If a customer signs up without entering a password, one is automatically generated for them. They can set their own password later through the account page or password reset.
This setting is hidden when Disable Signup is checked, since there's no signup form to configure.
Name Optional for Signup
When checked, the name fields are not required during registration. Customers can still enter their name, but it won't be enforced. Name information can be collected later at checkout.
This setting is also hidden when Disable Signup is checked.
Require Account to See Products
When checked, visitors must be logged in before they can view any product information. Products and pricing are hidden from visitors who aren't logged in. This applies across the entire site — gallery store views, image purchase options, and product listings all require authentication.
Use this if you want to restrict product visibility to registered clients only.
Notes
- These are global settings that affect all galleries and pages on your site.
- The Password Optional and Name Optional settings streamline the registration process when you want to reduce friction. Customers can always complete their profile later.
- Require Account to See Products only hides product information. Visitors can still browse galleries and view images — they just can't see pricing or add items to cart until they log in.
- For per-gallery access control (requiring login to view specific galleries), see Gallery Access Types.
