Sunshine Main Menu

The Sunshine Main Menu is a navigation bar that appears above your gallery content, giving visitors quick access to key pages like galleries, their account, favorites, cart, and login/logout. You can choose to have it appear automatically or place it manually using a shortcode or widget.

How to Set It Up

The main menu is enabled by default. To verify or change the setting:

  1. Go to Sunshine > Settings > Design
  2. Scroll to the Miscellaneous Elements section
  3. Check or uncheck Auto-include Sunshine main menu
  4. Save your settings

How It Works

Auto-Include (Default)

When Auto-include Sunshine main menu is checked, the menu automatically appears at the top of all Sunshine pages — galleries, images, cart, checkout, account, and favorites. You don't need to do anything else.

Manual Placement

If you uncheck the auto-include option, you can still display the menu wherever you want using:

  • Shortcode: Add [sunshine_menu] to any page or post
  • Widget: Add the Sunshine Main Menu widget to any sidebar or widget area in your theme

This gives you more control over where the menu appears.

What the Menu Contains

The menu automatically includes links based on your configuration:

  • Galleries — Link to your main galleries page (can be hidden with the Hide link to main galleries page setting)
  • Account — Link to the customer account page (shown when accounts are active)
  • Favorites — Link to the favorites page (shown when favorites are enabled)
  • Cart — Link to the cart with an item count badge (hidden in Proofing Only Mode)
  • Store — Link to the gallery store view (shown when viewing a gallery with the Store View enabled)
  • Login / Logout — Login link for visitors, logout link for logged-in users

The menu is responsive — on smaller screens it collapses into a toggleable menu with "Menu" and "Close" buttons.

Notes

  • The menu is hidden during Distraction Free Checkout to keep the checkout page clean.
  • Menu items are dynamic — they change based on context. For example, the Store link only appears when viewing a gallery that supports purchasing.
  • The menu can be customized with code using the sunshine_main_menu filter. See Manage Sunshine Main Menu Links for examples of adding or removing menu items.
