How to set quantity discounts

Entice customers to spend more by offering a per-item discount the more they add to cart.

• First, create any kind of product you would like
• When editing the product, find the Quantity Discount section in the General tab.
• Click the "Add" button to define a new discount threshold.
• Enter a minimum quantity the customer must reach
• Enter the discount (not the new price) for each item to be applied
• Use the toggle next to the discount amount to choose whether it is a fixed amount off or a percentage off

Each tier can be a fixed amount (your store currency) or a percentage. A percentage is taken off that item's price, so it scales with whatever the product costs. This keeps the discount fair when the same product sells at different prices, such as a higher-priced gallery for a travel event. You can mix the two: one tier can be a fixed amount and another a percentage on the same product.

The quantity threshold by default counts the number of this product across the entire cart. If you want the discounts to only be calculated per line item (or per image), then check the option "Calculate quantities per line item".

Example

This example shows how to configure quantity discounts so customers pay less per photo as they buy more.

Target pricing:

• 1 photo → €9
• 3 photos → €15
• 5 photos → €18
• 10 photos → €24
• 15 photos → €29
• 20 photos → €34

Step 1: Set the base price

Set the product price to €9.

Step 2: Add quantity discount tiers

Edit the product and add the following Quantity Discount rows:

Minimum quantity: 3

Discount per item: €4.00

Minimum quantity: 5

Discount per item: €5.40

Minimum quantity: 10

Discount per item: €6.60

Minimum quantity: 15

Discount per item: €7.07

Minimum quantity: 20

Discount per item: €7.30

Step 3: Save the product

Once saved, Sunshine Photo Cart will automatically apply the correct discount so the total price matches the target amounts listed above.
