Free shipping method
The Free shipping method lets you offer no-cost delivery on client orders. The base method has no price field — it's free. What makes it useful is the ways you can control when it shows up.
How to Add Free Shipping
- In your WordPress admin, go to Sunshine > Settings > Delivery & Shipping
- From the shipping method dropdown, select Free
- Click Add shipping method
- Click Configure on the new row and set the name and description
Configuration Fields
- Name — How the option appears at checkout, for example "Free Shipping"
- Description — A short line shown next to the name
- Via Discount — When enabled, the free shipping option is hidden by default and only appears when the customer applies a free-shipping discount code. Requires the Discounts add-on.
Common Setups
- Free shipping with discount code — Use the Discounts add-on to unlock free shipping only when a customer enters a code
- Free shipping with minimum order amount — Use Advanced Shipping to unlock free shipping at a subtotal threshold (great for boosting average order value)
More Control with Advanced Shipping
The Advanced Shipping add-on extends the free shipping method with conditional rules:
- Minimum order amount before free shipping kicks in
- Maximum order amount (to keep free shipping limited to small orders if you want)
- Limit to specific galleries, product categories, countries, or states
- Combine with a flat rate fallback so customers always see one shipping option
See Configure Advanced Shipping for the full list of options.
