Proofing Only Mode

Proofing Only mode turns Sunshine Photo Cart into a pure image proofing system by removing all purchasing and e-commerce functionality from your site. Visitors can browse galleries, view images, and add images to their favorites — but cannot add anything to a cart or place orders.

How to Set It Up

1. Go to Sunshine > Settings > Galleries
2. Scroll to the Features section
3. Check Proofing Only
4. Save your settings

What Gets Removed

When Proofing Only is enabled, the following changes take effect across your entire site:

• Cart link is removed from the Sunshine main menu
• Purchase options are removed from image pages — visitors no longer see product choices or "add to cart" buttons
• "Add all to cart" button is removed from the favorites page
• Store view is disabled on all galleries (the products-first view)
• Cart and checkout pages become inaccessible — visitors who try to navigate directly to these pages are redirected to the main galleries page

What Still Works

• Image viewing — Visitors can browse galleries and view images normally
• Favorites — Visitors can still add images to their favorites list for proofing and selection purposes
• Gallery access controls — Password protection, private galleries, access types, and expiration all continue to work as configured
• Comments — If enabled on a gallery, image comments still function

When to Use It

Proofing Only mode is designed for photographers who want to use Sunshine purely for client proofing without selling prints or products online. Common scenarios include:

• You sell prints and products outside of your website and just need clients to view and select their favorite images
• You're running a selection workflow where clients pick their favorites before you handle fulfillment separately
• You want a streamlined gallery experience without any shopping cart elements

Notes

• This is a global setting — it affects all galleries on your site. There is no way to enable proofing for individual galleries while keeping purchasing active on others.
• A CSS class sunshine--proofing is added to the page body when this mode is active, which can be useful for custom styling.
• Enabling Proofing Only automatically disables the Gallery Store View regardless of that setting's value.
• Your products, payment methods, and shipping settings are preserved. If you disable Proofing Only later, everything returns to normal without needing to reconfigure.
