Gallery Store View
The Store View provides an alternative way for visitors to shop within your galleries. Instead of the standard approach where visitors browse images first and then choose products, the Store View flips the experience — visitors see your products first, then select which images they want for each product.
How to Set It Up
- Go to Sunshine > Settings > Galleries
- Scroll to the Features section
- Check Allow Store
- Save your settings
The Store View is enabled by default on new installations.
How It Works
The Two Shopping Experiences
Sunshine offers two ways for visitors to shop within a gallery:
Gallery View (image-first): Visitors browse through gallery images, click an image they like, and then choose which product they want (print size, canvas, etc.) for that image. This is the default experience.
Store View (product-first): Visitors see your product categories and products listed out, pick a product they're interested in, and then select which images from the gallery they want to order in that product. This works well when visitors already know what they want to buy.
Both views are available simultaneously — visitors can switch between them using the menu links.
What Visitors See
When a visitor navigates to the Store View, they see:
- Product categories — each shown with a thumbnail, name, and description
- Products within each category — displayed as cards with the product image, name, price, and a button to see options
- Product details modal — when they click a product, a modal opens where they can select images from the gallery, set a quantity, and add to cart
Navigation
When Store View is enabled, a Store link appears in the Sunshine menu when visitors are viewing a gallery or image. A Visit store action button also appears. The store URL follows the pattern:
yoursite.com/gallery/gallery-name/store
The "store" part of the URL can be customized under Sunshine > Settings > Pages & URLs.
Per-Gallery Control
Store View is a global setting, but you can effectively disable it for individual galleries by checking Disable Products in the gallery's Products tab. This prevents all purchasing (including the Store View) for that specific gallery.
Galleries can also control which products appear in their Store View through their assigned Price Level. Only products configured for the gallery's price level will be shown.
Notes
- Store View is automatically disabled when Proofing Only Mode is active, since proofing removes all purchasing functionality.
- Only product types that support the store display are shown. By default, this includes print-type products.
- The Store View templates can be overridden in your theme by copying the
templates/store/folder to your theme'ssunshine/store/directory. - If a gallery has products disabled or cannot be purchased (expired, for example), visitors who navigate to the store URL see a message that the store is not available for this gallery.
